When you adjust the spring prestressing, you move the spring seat. This will decrease or increase the initial force of the spring, which will lower or raise the rear driving height of the motorcycle. The prestress of the spring is fundamental for the proper functioning of the suspension. If prestressing is incorrectly adjusted, all other adjustments will not make it possible to obtain the desired performance of the suspension.
1. Adjust the prestress of the spring with the mechanical adjustment
- Use an ergot key.
- Log the blocking nut (1A).
- Move the lower spring platform (1b) to the desired position.
- Turn clockwise to increase prestress, turn the needles in the opposite direction to decrease it.
2. Hydraulic adjustment
Turn the button of the hydraulic adjustment to adjust the prestress of the spring.
Turn clockwise to increase the prestressing and in the opposite direction to the needles of a watch to decrease it.
3. Integrated hydraulic adjustment
Turn the hexagonal screw on the hydraulic adjustment to adjust the prestress of the spring. Turn clockwise to increase, turn the needles in the opposite watch to decrease.
4. 3 -position mechanical adjuster
Use two wrench keys. Turn the adjustment rings. There are three [3] adjustment positions (A, B and C).
5. Mechanical adjuster
- Unlock the nylon screw on the spring adjustment with a screwdriver (5A).
- Use the tool (03199-01) and turn the spring adjustment in the clock of a watch to increase pre-contraint (5b), turn in the opposite direction to the needles of a watch to decrease it.
