Öhlins: length adjustment

Explanatory manual in French for the different length settings for your Öhlins motorcycle shock absorbers.

Find all the Öhlins motorcycle shock absorbers HERE Or type your motorcycle model in the search bar.

By adjusting the length of the shock absorber, the steering geometry and the chain force can be modified. A shorter shock absorber will lead to a lower motorcycle. The angle of the fork as well as the offset will increase, and generally, the strength of the chain will be reduced with less anti-caption effect in result. A slight change in the center of severity is another result of the change in the length of the shock absorber.

NOTE On modern and racing hyper sport motorcycles, all length changes should be moderate. In addition, very minimal adjustments can have a significant impact.

Length

We recommend removing the vehicle shock absorber before adjusting the length. Use two 19 or 24 mm keys.

Hold the upper nut with one hand and at the same time loosen the blocking nut (lower nut).

Turn the eye/terminal support to the desired length.

A [1] Tour is 1 mm 1 mm length of shock absorber. Make sure to measure the driving height before and after the length adjustment (see the configuration chapter of your vehicle).

Tightening torque: 19 mm 30 nm key.

Tightening torque: 24 mm 40 Nm key.

Attention ! ⚠ Do not forget to tighten the blocking nut after adjusting the length.

Attention ! ⚠ The adjustable eye/terminal support should not be unscrewed in such a way that the groove is completely visible under the blocking nut. It is the maximum length. After the adjustment, make sure the blocking nut is tight.

Note!  After adjusting the length, check the angle of the lighthouse of your vehicle.
