BMW celebrates its 100th anniversary by offering a makeover to its legendary R ninet, taking advantage of this symbolic anniversary to mark a new era.
Ten years ago now, in 2013, BMW launched the R Ninet, a model full of a strong heritage, thus allowing the propeller brand to successfully launch into the neo-retro segment. From his first try, this motorcycle was a resounding success.

The first generation of the R ninet celebrated the brand's 90th anniversary. Logically, the new R 12 Ninet famous for the 100th anniversary of BMW. German production is as precise as a Swiss clock ... This novelty is slightly distinguished by its name, thus marking the transition between the first and the second generation, with the exception of developments made for Euro4 and Euro5 standards. BMW has kept the emblematic lines of this model, which is still intended to be purified.
Regarding the style, Edgar Heinrich, the famous head of the designer department of BMW Motorrad, had little choice. Such a simple motorcycle, with two wheels and an engine, even stripped, cannot be completely reinvented. It therefore appears to be "new" without really being. The differences are mainly in details such as the shape of the tank, the rear shell, the black paint of the engine-transmission kinematic chain or even the colasses. Only connoisseurs of this model will notice these distinctions. Some bikers may even not realize it.

The new BMW R 12 Ninet, a 2024 model, is expected to appear in the second half of this year. No information has been communicated on the price at the moment, but it is very likely that inflation is in order. The current R ninet is negotiated from € 17,990 ... remember that the RNAINT of 2013 was offered at less than € 15,000, then to € 15,400 in 2016.
