Praga, the Czech brand of cars, trucks, planes and even tanks, also produced motorcycles in the 1930s with the BD 500 DoHC and the BC 350 OHC, as well as two models of enduro at the start of the years 2000. After having stopped his two -wheeled activities in 2003, Praga now returns with the ZS 800, a bobber -style motorcycle inspired by the famous BD 500 from 1928.
Praga has chosen to aim for the premium segment for its return to the two wheels with this retro machine which uses noble materials and displays a neat finish. The ZS 800 weighs only 142 kg dry and is equipped with a parallel twin -cylinder of 773cc cooled by air from the W800, developing a power of 50 hp, which takes place in a chrome Molybdène steel frame. The brakes are in drum, just like at the time. The titanium exhaust line and the carbon wheels add a touch of luxury to the motorcycle. The suspensions are signed Öhlins while the 11.5 liter tank (integral part of the frame) is covered with carbon. The titanium is present everywhere, from screws to the nuts and bolts of the frame and the engine. Jan žuži, Praga chief engineer, said: "Solid and extremely light materials - such as carbon, titanium, chrome -molybdene steel and aviation duralumin - allowed us to rethink the rigid suspension of the Rear wheel, the fork of the front swing arm and the hydraulic drum brakes. »»
Only 28 copies of the ZS 800 will be produced and are already available to order, for a delivery planned in the middle of the year. This prestigious machine is offered at a price of € 86,000.
